Eurasian Industrial Design Application Statistics

On June 1, 2021, the Eurasian Patent Office began the receipt of Eurasian industrial design applications. Overall, the Eurasian Patent Office received 92 Eurasian industrial design applications in 2021. In this, these Eurasian applications included a total of 190 industrial designs.

In 2021, applicants from EAPC Contracting States filed 77 Eurasian applications for 110 industrial designs, including applicants from the Russian Federation, with 68 Eurasian applications for 95 industrial designs, the Republic of Kazakhstan, with 8 Eurasian applications for 13 industrial designs, and the Republic of Belarus, with 1 application for 2 industrial designs.

Applicants from States not party to EAPC filed 15 Eurasian applications for 80 industrial designs in 2021, including applicants from the United States of America, with 9 Eurasian applications for 64 industrial designs, Bulgaria, with 2 Eurasian applications for 6 industrial designs, Finland, with 1 Eurasian application for 3 industrial designs, Germany, with 1 Eurasian application for 3 industrial designs, Hungary, with 1 Eurasian application for 2 industrial designs, and Turkey, with 1 Eurasian application for 2 industrial designs.

Diagrams 1 and 2 show the distribution of Eurasian industrial design applications received in 2021 and the number of industrial designs included in them, respectively, by country of origin.

In 2021, the largest numbers of industrial designs were claimed in the following classes of the International Classification for Industrial Designs:
Class 11 (Articles of adornment),
Class 9 (Packaging and containers for the transport or handling of goods),
Class 6 (Furnishing),
Class 25 (Building units and construction elements).

The year 2021 saw 7 Eurasian industrial design patents granted. The number of registered industrial designs totaled 16.
