LIAISONS WITH STATES NOT PARTY TO THE EURASIAN PATENT CONVENTION

In 1999 the establishment, strengthening, and expansion of mutually beneficial collaboration with patent offices of countries not party to the Eurasian Patent Convention was based on the founding documents and conducted according to recommendations of the Administrative Council of the Organization.

Negotiations, meetings, and talks have been conducted in the course of various international events; correspondence and the exchange of delegations has taken place with the management and representatives of patent offices of Austria, Germany, Uzbekistan, the Ukraine, Turkey, Estonia, Yugoslavia, Japan and a many other countries.

In March and April of 1999 seminars on procedural issues of applying the Eurasian Patent Convention were held in four USA cities, plus consultations took place with the management of the USA Patent Office on establishing collaboration on industrial property protection.

In September and October of the year a seminar on the same subject was held in Germany.

Exchange of patent information with the patent offices of Austria, Germany, Uzbekistan, the Ukraine, and Estonia continued to take place under the terms of bilateral agreements.
