An official meeting was held between the President of the Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO) Mr. GRIGORIEV Alexander Nikolaevich and a delegation of the Intellectual Property Office of Mongolia headed by the General Director Mr. CHINBAT Namjil, in the headquarters of the EAPO in Moscow on November 1-4, 2004.

In the course of the meeting the delegation of the Intellectual Property Office of Mongolia has been acquainted with the history and prospects of the EAPO development.

The EAPO experts acquainted the members of the the Intellectual Property Office of Mongolia with the EAPO activities and demonstrated visually the procedure of obtaining the EAPO patent from a patent application to granting a Eurasian patent.

The delegation visited both the EAPO expert and information departments and expressed their interest in activities of the Search & Information Systems Department which provides an information access of the EAPO experts and the EAPO national offices at an up-to-date level, a structure of the EAPO patent and information fund has been presented.

Great interest was expressed by the delegation to the regional eurasian patent-information system (EAPATIS), search and service abilities have been shown, as well as the (EAPATIS) role and position in the Eurasian region.

At the final meeting the Sides have agreed to expand cooperation between both offices.
