On May 26-28, 2010 the WIPO delegation visited the Eurasian Patent Office. The WIPO delegation was represented by Mr. William Meredith, Infrastructure Modernization Division, and Mr. Mikhail Gavrikov, Program Officer, PCT International Cooperation Division. The purpose of the visit was to take part in EAPO Training for specialists of national patent offices of the EAPC Contracting States as well as to discuss bilateral cooperation in the field of information technologies.

On May 27, 2010 the representatives of WIPO and EAPO held negotiations. From the EAPO side the delegation consisted of Dr. Khabibullo Fayazov, Vice-President, Ms. Marina Kryukova, Director, International Relations Department, Mr. Dmitry Rogozhin, Deputy Director, Examination Department, Mr. Vladimir Sirotyuk, Director, Dataware Department, Mr. Saparbay Eminov, Director, Procedure Automation Department, Mr. Petr Dzegelenok, Director, Search and Information Systems Department, Mr. Anton Ovchinnikov, Deputy Director, Dataware Department, Mr. Andrey Sekterov, Principal specialist, Search and Information Systems Department, and Ms. Oksana Vlasova, Leading specialist, International Relations Department.

During the meeting the EAPO specialists demonstrated the information and search system EAPATIS and the EAPO system of electronic filing (ADEPT). Mr. William Meredith informed on latest developments and possibilities of the WIPO automated system "Patentscope".

The Parties discussed development of cooperation in the area of patent information and dissemination of patent documents, agreed to sign a Cooperative work program in relation to the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) between the EAPO and the International Bureau of the WIPO as well as expressed their willingness to further development of mutually beneficial cooperation.
