On February 12-15, 2007 EAPO delegation headed by the EAPO President Dr. Alexander Grigoriev visited the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI) in the framework of Memorandum of Understanding between the EAPO and IMPI signed in September 2006 in Moscow.

The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the IMPI activity for preparing the Work Plan of future cooperation.

Director General of IMPI Mr. Jorge Amigo presented to the EAPO delegation activities, goals and functions of the Institute.

During the visit a meeting with the Director General of the National Polytechnic Institute Dr. Enrique Villa Rivera took place.

The EAPO President made a presentation “The EAPO’s Experience” during the Conference in the National Polytechnic Institute about the history of the EAPO, current activities, further perspectives of it’s development and advantages of the Eurasian patent system in general.

The EAPO delegation also made a visit to the IMPI West-Coast Regional Office in Guadalajara for the discussions with its staff.

The parties have confirmed their commitment in establishment of regular contacts and in future continuation of development of mutual cooperation in the field of intellectual property.
