On May 11, 2010 the delegation of the African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI) visited the Eurasian Patent Office. The OAPI delegation was represented by Mr. Paulin Edou-Edou, Director General, and Mr. Antonio Nosoliny, Director of International Cooperation Department.

From the EAPO side the delegation consisted of Dr. Alexander Grigoriev, EAPO President, Dr. Khabibullo Fayazov, Vice-President, Ms. Marina Kryukova, Director, International Relations Department, Ms. Aurelia Ceban, Head, Section of Examination of Appeals, and Ms. Oksana Vlasova, Leading specialist, International Relations Department

The OAPI delegation was informed of the EAPO activity, on the Eurasian patent system, EAPO information technologies and recourses. The Parties discussed future mutually beneficial projects and shared their opinions on a range of problems and challenges facing both regional patent organizations. Both Parties marked positive tendencies in bilateral cooperation between the organizations. It was decided to create a joint commission responsible for preparation of a two-year cooperation plan and to update and revise the Framework Agreement on Cooperation between EAPO and OAPI.

During the visit the OAPI delegation met with the delegation of the Association of Patent Attorneys of the Russian Federation represented by Mr. Valery German, President, and Ms. Nataliya Rybina, Vice-President.
