Enhancing cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Eurasian Patent Organization was one of the agenda issues of the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, which was held on June 13.

Proposals to enhance cooperation, including Turkmenistan’s accession to the Protocol to the Eurasian Patent Convention on the Protection of Industrial Designs, were presented to the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, highlighted the advantages of joining the Eurasian system of industrial design protection for the implementation of Turkmenistan’s state policy on the introduction of modern technologies and innovations.

The plans for October 2024 include a regional forum in Ashgabat on the legal protection of industrial designs. In 2025, Turkmenistan intends to host a session of the EAPO Administrative Council.
