The first applications under the new status of the EAPO were received on the fourth day of the office’s operation as an International Searching and Preliminary Examining Authority (ISA/IPEA) under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT).

On July 5, 2022, with the EAPO as a receiving office under the PCT, applicants from one of the EAPO member states filed an international PCT application indicating the EAPO as a competent International Searching Authority.

On July 8, 2022, applicants from Russian Federation sent a demand to conduct an international preliminary examination at the EAPO for one of the previously filed PCT applications.

The details of the both applications are confidential, since they have not been published yet.

The cost of conducting an international patent search for an application in Russian is 9,000 Rubles, and for an application in English – 40,000 Rubles. The amounts of fees for international search and other actions carried out by the EAPO in relation to the ISA/IPEA activities are published on the web portal of the Eurasian Patent Organization.
