On September 20, 2018 the delegation of the National Intellectual Property Administration, PRC, headed by Commissioner Shen Changyu visited the headquarters of the Eurasian Patent Organization. The visit was aimed at signing of bilateral cooperation agreements and familiarization with the EAPO activities.

President of the Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO) Saule Tlevlessova and Commissioner of the National Intellectual Property Administration, PRC (CNIPA) signed Memorandum of Understanding between the Eurasian Patent Office of the Eurasian Patent Organization and the National Intellectual Property Administration, PRC and Plan of Actions for 2019-2020 for the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding.

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding and the Plan of Actions is aimed at expanding and further strengthening the cooperation of the parties. The documents regulate the main areas of bilateral cooperation of the two offices in the field of intellectual property for the near future.

In the course of the meeting Heads of EAPO and CNIPA exchanged information on the development of intellectual property in the member states of the Eurasian Organization and in China, as well as on the latest developments in their respective offices. The parties discussed the state of bilateral cooperation and the prospects for implementing new agreements related to mutual participation in the coming events.

In his speech Commissioner Shen highlighted the significant intensification of bilateral cooperation with EAPO and the substantial progress achieved in the result of cooperation over the past two years in the course of Mrs. Tlevlesova’s leadership. CNIPA Commissioner invited EAPO President to take part in the annual international conference to be held in China in 2019.

In memory of the meeting, CNIPA Commissioner Shen Changyu left a note with wishes in the book of Honorable Guests of EAPO.
