The Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO) and Samara State Medical University (SamSMU) signed an agreement on the implementation of the “Pilot Program for Extended Information Search and Preliminary Assessment of the Patentability of Inventions”.

The agreement provides new opportunities for sharing experience, knowledge and resources. The university specialists will be able to conduct extended information search and preliminary assessment of the patentability of inventions on Eurasian applications using the EAPO systems. The cooperation between the EAPO and SamSMU will improve the quality of Eurasian patents and expand the expertise of university specialists.

The SamSMU will be given access to the EAPO search systems and training activities for researchers will be conducted as part of the cooperation.

SamSMU is one of the largest universities in Russia, which actively promotes science and innovations. The university has 8 research centers and 17 research and educational centers. University scientists have greatly contributed to the development of national and global medical science. The SamGMU is a leader in a number of scientific fields and is respected both in Russia and abroad.

The EAPO continues to implement the “Pilot Program for Extended Information Search and Preliminary Assessment of the Patentability of Inventions”. Three Russian organizations, namely Samara State Medical University, Gazprom Neft Science and Technical Center and Ogarev Mordovia State University, were successfully accredited.
