On April 22, 2013, a delegation from the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) consisting of Ms. Elena Suslina – Director, Dataware Department; Mr. Rafael Martines – Advisor, Department of Information Support and Standardization of Electronic Documents; Ms. Elena Izmailova – Advisor, Department of Protection of Intellectual Property, and Ms. Alexandra Shilova – Analyst, CJSC “Katsit” – visited the Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO).

From the EAPO side the meeting was attended by the Heads and Specialists of Department of Patent Information and Procedure Automation; as well as International Relations Department.

During the meeting EAPO experts have familiarized the EEC delegation with the existing EAPO System for electronic filing of the Eurasian applications, Information- Retrieval System, Publication System for Eurasian applications and patents; with the WIPO standards which are being used at the EAPO and answered questions of interest. Furthermore, EAPO experts have highlighted the issues that arise when implementing the System for electronic filing of the Eurasian applications at the National Patent Offices.

At the end of the meeting the Parties have agreed to maintain contact with a view of exchanging opinions on ways of resolving issues, arising during the implementation of the applications electronic filing system.
