April 25, 2017, on the eve of the International Intellectual Property Day a meeting with Eurasian patent attorneys was held in the Eurasian patent office (EAPO).

The Eurasian patent attorneys were represented by managers and specialists of patent attorney firms as well as independent Eurasian patent attorneys of the Russian Federation (Moscow, St.-Petersburg, Rostov, Obninsk, Tver, Togliatti, Perm’), Belarus (Minsk) and Kazakhstan (Almaty).

Alongside with the Eurasian patent attorneys, patent attorneys of the States party to the Eurasian Patent Convention (EAPC), representatives of periodicals of the Russian Federation in the field of intellectual property and other persons concerned took active part in the meeting.


The meeting was chaired by the EAPO President S. Tlevlessova.

Mrs. Tlevlesova congratulated all the attendants with the upcoming professional holiday and spoke about the perspectives of the EAPO development.

Dmitry Rogozhin, Head of the Examination Department of EAPO, made an overview of the changes in EAPO regulatory legal acts of the on restoration of rights and further processing, an expedited procedure for consideration of applications and the Statute on fees of the EAPO.

Aurelia Cheban, Head of Appeals, Oppositions and Quality control Division of Legal affairs, Quality control and Document workflow Department, reported on the changes in Patent regulations to the Eurasian patent Convention.

Principal specialist of the Paperless Information Technologies Development Group of Patent Information and Automation Department Denis Zastavny familiarized the attendants with the new possibilities of electronic communication with EAPO.

The EAPO specialists answered the questions asked by the Eurasian patent attorneys and parties concerned.

The meeting participants exchanged views on further improvement of the Eurasian patent procedure.

The Eurasian Patent Office conveys its gratitude to all Eurasian patent attorneys and guests for active and interested participation in the meeting and expresses the hope that such meetings will help to unite efforts in the development and improvement of the intellectual property protection system.
