On August 20-22, 2014 a delegation from the Eurasian Patent Office participated both in the meeting of the Interstate Council on Legal Protection and Enforcement of Intellectual Property (hereinafter MGSIS), as well as in the Regional Seminar “Intellectual Property system and ways of its development”, organized in Dushanbe, conjointly, by State “National Patent Information Center” under the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan and the EAPO.

The Seminar was attended by representatives of the National Patent Offices of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Republic of Moldova, Russian Federation and Republic of Tajikistan, as well as representatives from the EAPO, WIPO, CIS Executive Committee, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Customs Service of the Russian Federation.

The participants of the Seminar got acquainted in detail with the National Strategy for development of the Intellectual Property in the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as shared the work experiences of the National Patent Offices in the matters of enhancement of Intellectual Property protection.

In the frame of its works, the MGSIS regarded issues related to the state of affairs in the field of protection of Intellectual Property, enforcement of rights for Intellectual Property, issue of the regional patent-information product of the CIS countries on CD-ROM. Participants heard the information from the Russian State Academy of Intellectual Property about the project of Concept of Formation and Development of the CIS Intellectual Property Market, as well as examined series of other matters.

The official part of the event was accompanied by informal meetings and socializing activities, prepared by the generous hosts – employees of the State “National Patent Information Center” under the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan.
