On September 25, 2018, EAPO and KIPO signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Eurasian Patent Office of the Eurasian Patent Organization and the Korean Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Korea on the Patent Prosecution Highway.

In accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding, a pilot program on accelerated patent prosecution Mottainai (PPH Mottainai) and accelerated patent prosecution using PCT-PPH work products will launch on January 1, 2019. The duration of the pilot program is three years and may be further extended by mutual agreement between EAPO and KIPO.

Documents and interpretation concerning participation in the pilot program will be published on the web portal of the Eurasian Patent Organization in the section International Cooperation /PPH Program.
