The practical internship program in the field of information security organized by the EAPO for IT specialists of the national patent offices of the EAPO Member States has finished.

During the internship, Zharkynai Kurmushueva, the leading specialist in the Information Technology Sector of Kyrgyzpatent, studied issues related to the creation of a secure and continuous infrastructure platform for EAPO unified IT services and the principles of comprehensive information security management systems.

The IT specialist studied the operations of the EAPO Cyber Security Division, gained practical knowledge of the EAPO colleagues, and visited leading data processing centers in Moscow.

The intern also learned about the patent search systems used by the EAPO and the development of IT services as part of the development of a new comprehensive EAPO information system.

For reference: An internship program for IT security specialists started in September 2023. Specialists from the patent offices of Armenia and Tajikistan have already completed the internships.

The EAPO actively cooperates with national patent offices to ensure cyber security of offices. Joint projects are implemented at the request of the offices, including setting up modern basic infrastructure and information security systems, providing assistance in the drafting of documents and preparing action plans for the cyber security management system.
