On August 26, 2019, the Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO) hosted the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) delegation consisting of WIPO Legal Counsel Fritz Bontekoe, Director of the Department for Transition and Developed Countries Michal Svantner and Senior Advisor to the WIPO Russia Office Zaurbek Albegonov.

The meeting was focused on the forthcoming Diplomatic conference on the adoption of the Protocol on the Protection of Industrial Designs to the Eurasian Patent Convention to be held on September 9, 2019 in Nur-Sultan, Republic of Kazakhstan.

In her welcome address EAPO President Saule Tlevlessova thanked WIPO for its assistance and support in the creation of the Eurasian system of legal protection of industrial designs.

WIPO representatives noted the high standard of the drafted Protocol on the Protection of Industrial Designs to the Eurasian Patent Convention and confirmed the readiness for further cooperation, as well as the future Depositary of the Industrial Designs Protocol.
