On March 24, 2018 Beijing welcomed the official opening of the IP Silk Road Russian-Chinese IP Center. Among others, the Eurasian Patent Office was invited to this profound ceremony, where the general aspects of patenting in the Eurasian region through the Eurasian Patent Office were presented.

The Center was established by the joint initiative of the Federal Institute of Industrial Property and the All-Russia Society of Inventors and Rationalizers (VOIR) supported by the Federal Institute for Intellectual Property (Rospatent) and the State Intellectual Property Office of the P.R. China (SIPO).

The Center is aimed at providing support to develop the Russian and Chinese inventive activity and to promote the emergence of Russian and Chinese innovative products in the markets of the two countries.

The Center is established on the territory of Beijing Future Science and Technology City, which will become a platform for exchange of innovation and technology of high strategic value for both countries. The Center will, among others, provide the Russian and Chinese inventors with professional support in counseling on intellectual property rights, identification of priority fields, patent analysis, commercialization, etc.
