A Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO) representative participated in the 5th International Young Inventors Awards (IYIA) 2018, organized by the Indonesian Invention and Innovation Promotion Association (INNOPA) on 19-22 September, 2018 in Bali, Indonesia.

Schoolchildren from 15 countries of the world as young inventors from China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, India, the Philippines, Hong Kong and other countries of Southeast Asia, representatives of Russia, Poland and other countries took part in the IYIA-2018. Inventiveness and creativity of young participants were demonstrated in numerous displays of the exhibition in the field of medicine, ecology, information technology, robotics and other spheres. The winners of IYIA-2018 were the participants, who not only showed talent in the field of invention but also showed their bright presentation skills to the international jury.

The EAPO representative took part in the ceremony of awarding the winners of IYIA-2018. Honorary EAPO awards were presented to the winners in individual and team competitions: a young inventor from Indonesia for developing a device for locating persons with disabilities and a team of schoolchildren from Malaysia for the construction of a low-cost eco-friendly water filter.
