EAPO Vice-President Mr. Emil Mammadov participated in the 2nd International Strategic Forum on Intellectual Property IPQuorum 2019, held in Svetlogorsk, Kaliningrad Region, Russian Federation, on April 10-12, 2019.

IPQuorum 2019 was organized by the Russian National Intellectual Property Transactions Coordination Center (IPChain Association), the Confederation of Rightholders’ Societies of Europe and Asia (EACOP) and the Federation of Intellectual Property (FIP).

The Forum brought together over 1500 participants from more than 30 countries. Heads and experts of ministries and specialized departments, state and private corporations, the largest Russian and foreign companies, leading Russian and international experts, economists, lawyers, businessmen, scientists, cultural figures, journalists, directors of right holders’ societies, representatives of IT developers, and others spoke at the Forum.

EAPO Vice-President took part in the Official Opening Ceremony of the IPQuorum 2019 as one of the honorable guests and read out the welcoming address of EAPO President Saule Tlevlessova.

EAPO President noted the unique format of the Forum, which included the panel discussions, exhibitions, educational sessions, and cultural and entertainment events into one large platform. Ms. Tlevlessova wished the participants of the event fruitful work and expressed confidence that the initiatives worked out in the framework of IPQuorum 2019 would give an effective impetus to the further development of IP sphere.

“Participating in global IP forums and conferences, the Eurasian Patent Office monitors the development of new digital trends and examples of their effective implementation, uses new technologies to organize the EAPO internal processes, simplify interaction with applicants, and develop international patent cooperation” was stated in the welcoming address of EAPO President.

IPQuorum 2019 was held under the motto “IP Code: All Aspects of Intellectual Property for Man and Economy”, emphasizing the role and importance of intellectual property as one of the key institutions of modern economy.

The subject of the Forum concerned almost all aspects of modern society: economics, science, technology, education, medicine, business, culture, art, considering them in the light of intellectual property.

Many of the issues discussed at the Forum were based on global trends and best practices in IP rights in different countries in the face of globalization.
